Is outsourcing a fad or a new way of operating a CPA firm? Many CPAs have images of loss of control, quality concerns, and have difficulty understanding how someone thousands of miles away can more effectively prepare returns. Outsourcing is for CPAs who are looking for more than data input. It is for firms that expect a better final product at a lower cost then if they did the work themselves. It is for firms that want a better quality of life, the opportunity to grow their practices, and the ability to better utilize permanent staff. This newsletter is intended to help educate CPAs on the process of outsourcing, the risks and benefits, and the latest industry developments.

Outsourcing is a strong consideration for firms:

  1. Seeking to improve the quality of life during tax season.
  2. Wanting to better manage staffing concerns.
  3. Who want to use in-house professionals to review rather than prepare returns.
  4. Who want to operate at peak efficiency during tax season and the summer months.
  5. Who want to expand their practice.

Xpitax provides three separate areas for CPA firms to evaluate:

  1. Tax Return Outsourcing. This core service includes individual returns, corporate returns, partnership returns and fiduciary returns. Xpitax is currently supporting all major tax softwares on the market.
  2. Bookkeeping, Financial Analysis and Workpaper Conversion. These solutions assist with record keeping, standardization, help sell advisory services, and transition CPA firms from paper intensive locations to an electronic world.

The Xcm can be used internally to help a firm move, track and expedite tax returns or other documents. This solution allows firms that outsource to use a single application for tracking and monitoring both outsourced and in-house returns. The Xcm can also be purchased by those firms who do not wish to utilize outsourcing, but who do want to use an automated tracking and monitoring solution for there in-house tax process.
